he theme for this year's Carers Week is 'The True Face of Carers'. Carers Week will run from 13th - 19th June.
3 in 5 people will be a carer at some point in their lives. This means there is a high chance that one day, the true face of a carer will be the one you see in the mirror.
How hard is life as a carer? Or how easy? What are the biggest surprises that you may encounter when you become a carer?
Is caring a perpetual struggle with no thanks and no recognition? Or a richly-rewarding experience that brings out the best in the human spirit?
How much help do carers actually receive from government? Or should that be 'how little'? What can really make a difference to the lives of carers?
Carers Week 2011 will be highlighting and celebrating the incredible contribution that carers make, sharing the challenges overcome as well as those still being faced.

Wednesday 15th June - Carers Outreach at Halton Lea Shopping Centre and Widnes Market 9am – 3.30pm
Thursday 16th June - Carers health event at the Masonic Hall, Widnes 9.30am – 2pm. Come along to sample our range of health services including chiropody service, holistic therapies, advice on medication, disability aids etc. A buffet lunch will be available from 1pm, if you wish to attend please contact the centre.
Friday 17th June – Carers party at the British Legion, Runcorn from 7.30pm ’till late! Entertainment and a fabulous buffet. This is a tickets only event, and as spaces are limited it is restricted to 2 tickets per carer. Guests are welcome at a charge of £4.50 each.
