Liverpool PCT are inviting submissions for the 2020 Decade of Health and Wellbeing Liverpool PCT Quality awards in celebration of quality and safety improvements across Merseyside.

The awards will be presented at the Liverpool PCT Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 27th September. Each shortlisted entry will be featured at the event. The awards will be promoted locally to highlight the quality improvements of NHS services and its supporters in Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
This year there are a number of awards available to participating organisations, NHS Commissioning, Providers and individuals in voluntary or not for-profit sector organisations.

  1. The Patient Experience Award. In recognition of improved patient experience, demonstrating systematic engagement with patients and their carers.
  2. The Patient Safety Award. Demonstrating significant improvements in the quality and safety of patient care.
  3. The Quality Improvement Award. Demonstrate ongoing and systematic improvements in service re-design, quality improvement, value for money and improved patient care. Evidence of improved patient outcomes is essential.
  4. Patients Choice Award. This award recognises a service or individual that has made a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of patients or their carers in Merseyside.
  5. The Quality Champion Award. Awarded in recognition of outstanding contribution to the quality of health care, the prevention of disease, the promotion of health equality or healthy living within Merseyside.

The PCT would be grateful to hear from LINk members with their nominations for a quality award within the categories listed above. They are particularly interested in your nominations for the “Patients Choice Award”. This is the first year that they have included this award which aims to showcase a service or individual that has had a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of patients or their carers in Merseyside

The deadline for nominations is 22nd August. The short listed nominations for the “Patient Choice Award” will be given the opportunity to present at the Quality Health Council on the 14th of September. LINks members are invited to attend and review the nominations for the Patient Choice Award and consequently decide the winner.
